I like my geeks with a pinch of cool-kid. My list:
5. Kevin Smith. I don’t know if he actually counts as a geek, because he’s totally cool when he’s Silent Bob. But as you know, I love movie geeks (see #1).
4. Neil Gaiman. He’s a sweetheart. I actually met him. Of course I’m the geek for saying to him, “Um, thank you for writing everything that you’ve ever written.” And he was all, “Um, you’re welcome.”
3. Jason Castro. Oh come on. He is such a music geek. Geek is a state of mind. Take away the dreads and there would be nothing cool about him. Just a geek and his guitar. Oh, and a bong.
2. Martin Starr. He was always my personal favorite on F&G. Do I even need to explain?
1. Von Ryan Hernandez, of course. The king of crazy sexy cool geeks. Hee.
